  • Day Care Helper We are seeking Volunteers for our Thursday Club in Kirkliston and our Friday Club in South Queensferry.
  • You would be Supporting people to participate in activities, having a chat and generally making people feel welcome and engaged throughout the day. Day care runs from 10.30 to 3.00 and you can volunteer for a morning or afternoon session or both. See timetable below.
  • Day Care Kitchen Assistant Helping to make tea and coffee and to plate up lunch and stack the dishwasher. See timetable below.
  • Reception Cover and Administrative SupportAt the Haven which is open Monday to Friday from 9.00 to 5.00.
  • Befriender You would visit an older person within their own home. There are no set hours however we would need to know the hours and days that you would be able to commit. A time commitment of 1-2 hours per week or fortnight is preferred.
  • Supper Club Our newest service offers a relaxed environment for carers and the person they care for to enjoy one another’s company in a social setting. Volunteers are needed to ensure everyone is able to participate and help with refreshments.
  • Events Fundraiser – Join our Events and fundraising team for an exciting new challenge.  We are looking for volunteers to help run events for Queensferry Care.  These events will be varied and we will match them to your skill base. No Previous experience required as full training and support will be given.
  • Gardener- We are seeking a volunteer to keep our small community garden space , light gardening, no experience required.

Timetable

Day Care

Monday and Friday at the Haven, South Queensferry, from 10.30 to 3.00 working with older people with dementia.

Tuesday at the Haven from 10.30 to 3.00 working with older people who may be isolated in their own home.

Wednesday and Thursday at Kirkliston Community Centre from 10.30 to 3.00 working with older people who are isolated, confined to their homes through a stroke or other illness

Befriending
We have a demand for befrienders in South Queensferry, Dalmeny, Kirkliston, Ratho, Ratho Station and Newbridge. Any visiting hours are appreciated but generally starting no later than 7.00pm
